Easy Pumpkin Dump Cake is a simple, crowd-pleasing dessert made with pumpkin puree, cake mix, butter, and pecans. A quick dump-and-bake recipe perfect for holidays and gatherings.

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 20 servings

Ingredients

Scale

15 oz canned pumpkin puree

12 oz evaporated milk

1 cup (213 g) packed brown sugar

3 large eggs

2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

15.25 oz yellow cake mix (dry)

1 cup (114 g) chopped pecans

1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a 9×13-inch pan with non-stick spray.

2. In a large bowl, whisk pumpkin, evaporated milk, brown sugar, eggs, and pumpkin pie spice until smooth. Pour into the pan.

3. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the top. Do not stir.

4. Sprinkle pecans over the cake mix.

5. Drizzle melted butter evenly over everything.

6. Bake 45–50 minutes until edges are browned and center is set. A knife inserted in the middle should come out clean. Cool 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a deeper spice profile, add a pinch of black pepper to the spice blend.

If your kitchen is cool, keep the melted butter warm so it pours evenly and hydrates the dry mix.

For extra crunch, add ½ cup crushed gingersnaps on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.

Allergen Swaps:
