These adorable Butterfly Cupcakes are the ultimate easy spring treat! Using white chocolate-covered pretzels for wings and pastel Sixlets for the body, they are perfect for kids’ parties, Easter brunch, or a sunny afternoon baking project.

Ingredients

Scale

12 baked cupcakes (vanilla or chocolate)

16 oz. pink frosting (store-bought or homemade)

24 white chocolate covered pretzels

16 oz. Sixlets (spring mix/pastel colors)

7 oz. coconut flakes (for antennae)

Instructions

1. Bake your cupcakes according to your favorite recipe or box mix instructions. Allow them to cool completely on a wire rack before decorating.

2. Frost the cooled cupcakes with pink frosting. You don’t need fancy piping—a smooth spread with a knife or offset spatula works perfectly.

3. Create the butterfly body: Place 4 to 5 Sixlets in a vertical line right down the middle of the cupcake.

4. Add the wings: Place two white chocolate-covered pretzels at a slight angle on either side of the Sixlet body, pressing them gently into the frosting to secure.

5. Add the antennae: Carefully place two shredded coconut flakes just under the first Sixlet at the top of the butterfly head.

6. Repeat for all cupcakes and enjoy!

Notes

Yield: This recipe makes 12 cupcakes, but a standard cake box usually makes 24. Simply double the decorations if making a full batch.

Storage: Best kept on the counter for up to 1 day uncovered to keep the pretzels crunchy, or in an airtight container for up to 3 days (though pretzels may soften).
